Scope
This project for Severn Trent Water included:-
Upgrade of inlet works for new inlet screens and inclined compactor
Installation of 2—7.5m diameter primary sedimentation tanks
New Humus Tanks and associated scrapers
Construction of 3—24m filter beds, distribution Pipe work together with the import of blast furnace slag filter media
New wash water and recirculation pumps
New motor control centre
Demolition of redundant tanks and landscaping
All civil, mechanical and electrical works
The works required ground stabilization over the area of proposed filter beds.
This was achieved by constructing a Contractor designed bored in-situ concrete pile configuration, under the reinforced concrete base slab of filter beds.
